at Miss Universe 2006. What do you think is the charm of Japanese women?

"Chibana is my type. She's
really cute. I want to go out with her. She has both brains and beauty. I am
very impressed with the fact that she can speak four languages. It's me
being Japanese, but I can relax the most with Japanese girls, so I would say
that's the charm of Japanese women."

"The charm of women is really
on an individual basis, so I just can't say exactly what the charms of
Japanese women are. People used to say that it's their kindness or elegance,
but you can't say that in today's Japan. Chibana has an exotic Asian face,
which I think many judges dug."

clear skin. They also have dark, silky hair. I think those are beautiful
features of Japanese women. They are very thoughtful, too. Chibana is really
beautiful yet she still keeps her cuteness. She reminds me of Shiho, a
famous model in Japan. She would stand out from the rest if she were walking
down the street."

"Japanese girls never get
overweight like American girls, even though they also eat at McDonald's.
They have more control over their diet, keeping the Japanese tradition of
only eating up to 80% full. They tend to stay fit even after marriage and
giving birth to a baby. Japanese girls also are devoted to pleasing their
men. Foreign girls are more self-asserting on the other hand."

"I think the charming point
of Japanese women is the exotic black hair. Japanese women look fragile, but
they have a core in their heart. I feel Japanese women only look for a
single male in romance. I assume women overseas are fierce and aggressive.
They look like successful career women to me. In my opinion, Japanese women
are more Westernized nowadays."

"I have not had much
opportunity to interact with non-Japanese women, so it's hard for me to
conclude what the charm of Japanese women is. But I like the fact that
typically they are short and skinny, which make them look cuter. I also like
their small buttocks. As for Chibana, she looks sharp and I thought the
national costume was good. It looked like it was anime influenced."

"I don't know much about
women abroad, so I cannot deeply compare the Japanese women with the rest of
the world. I think Japanese women are considerate to others. Japanese women
are reserved and devoted. I don't know if those characteristics apply to the
younger Japanese generations though. Kurara Chibana is glamorous, she looks
healthy, sharp and energetic. She doesn't look an idiot. She looks confident
of herself."

"I'm simply glad that a
Japanese woman has been selected as first runner-up at the Miss Universe
competition. The baby face of Japanese women is attractive. I have never
gone on a date with a female of foreign origin, but I think Japanese women
have more sense of consideration and moderation. I don't like those who have
high self-esteem. However, I feel more Japanese women are being Americanized
lately, so the number of traditional Japanese women is decreasing." |
